we won’t adopt the captain’s chair as is, but we will keep the consoles

The consoles are labelled in Old Sindalian.

Forward double console

• The console on the left says, roughly translated, "OUTSIDE SHIP" The controls are for communications, ship sensors, and the ventral (belly) weapon
• The console on the right says, directly translated, "NAVHELM" This is the ship navigation computer interface and helm controls

Most of the time, the bridge is empty except for one person on watch at this console, monitoring sensors and course.

Port station (far left)

• This station says, roughly translated, “INSIDE SHIP” This console has all the ship systems monitoring and power management and other engineering controls

Someone is always either at this station or in the engineering spaces, monitoring and adjusting.

Starboard station (far right)

• This station’s label directly translates to “COMBAT” The console has damage information, a tactical heads up display that shows this ship's orientation and any objects within weapons range and a weapons panel, consisting of a redundant ventral (belly) weapon control as well as dorsal (top) weapon controls.

This station is only manned when necessary.

This is the bridge of the Ancients ship, Destiny, from Stargate Universe. It is a big part of my head canon for the bridge in this game. Behind the captain’s chair, there is a platform with a handrail that wraps around the back of the bridge. And notice how the captain has a view of station monitor screens along the ceiling for each station so he has an overview of everything they see.
