So, it was as soon as you crossed the threshold into the hallway, immediately feeling you should not be here - oh, man, this is bad! - I need to turn around and run the opposite direction! The feeling just gets more and more pronounced to the point where she drops to her knees and she's got her hands over her head. She can practically hear the voices scream - Leave! - Get out! - Run away! - Over and over, echoing through her head. And then through all of this, there's a sweet little voice saying hello. She's clutching her head and hearing this sweet little hello, she opens her eyes, and all of a sudden, her mind starts calming down. It all starts leveling out. Miranda sees in front of her a small girl. She wears a formal red dress with fine embroidery and puffy shoulders. Her hair is tied with purple ribbons. She can't be more than five or six. And as you're looking at her through glassy eyes that aren't even wanting to focus, let alone believe what she's seeing in front of her, the girl says, who are you?
…
You asked who she is and she states that I'm Crystina. Crystina Tashmere. That's with an I. I'm not sure why. I'm five years old. You asked her, how did she get here. And she answered, this is my house. I live here. I'm playing hide and seek. Do you like to play hide and seek? And you answered no. She says, oh, and has just the slightest hint of a frown. You asked her, Where are your parents? And I said, oh, now you made a mistake. It's too late. You asked the question, I'm answering the question. It's not that bad of a mistake. I'm just serving the story. So you asked, Where are your parents? She says, they're around here somewhere. Everyone is here still. They're all just real quiet now and a hiding, but not for long. They're going to come out soon, you'll see. And then she turns and runs through a wall without a word and is gone.
All right, we got all that?
Because to sort of recognize, commemorate, whatever, the entrance of some Slasher Flick rules into our game here, we're going to do something very Slasher Flicky, okay? To highlight the entrance of the Slasher Flick rules into this Dread House campaign, we're going to do something very Slasher Flicky, and we are going to have an alternate version of the Crissi scene. It was an extra on the DVD, maybe, that had never before been seen until the DVD release, many years after the release of the film. Get it?
So we're going to revisit that moment.
So, you see this girl standing before you. The book says, Appearance - a sweet and innocent ghost girl of five years dressed for a formal occasion. She has long blonde hair expertly tied into curls with two purple ribbons. Her face is broad and cute, but her eyes are wary. Her dress is red and made of very expensive material. She wears black shoes with white hose. And you notice that her dress and her shoes appear to be a bit dirty.
When she came up, she said, hello. She said, who are you? And your reply would be, my name is Miranda. Who are you?
By the way, Crystina has the curiosity and speech pattern of a typical child her age. I just saw that as I was scrolling.
She says, I'm Crystina. Crystina Tashmere. Everyone here calls me Crissi. That's Crissi with an I, not a Y, though. I'm not sure why. I'm five years old. Where's the rest of your family? They're still here. Everyone's still here. They're all just real quiet now and hiding. But not for long. Soon they will come out, you'll see. And then she suddenly freezes and her eyes get wide, and she turns and runs through a wall without a word and is gone.
Okay, so the second piece of new information you have there is that while she was talking to you, she freezes and her eyes get real wide, and so she ran away like she was afraid of something.
Okay, easy enough? All right, that was our alternate version of that scene.
